Leland Sparks

The Nevada Charter School Sports League (NCSSL) was developed with a specific goal to make athletic programming accessible to all charter school students in grades K-12.  As a developmental program, the NCSSL (League) maintains a dual-focused approach to charter school sports.  We believe in establishing a solid foundation for our athletes to grow upon by teaching athletic fundamentals and developing the skill-sets needed to perform at a competitive level.  In addition to these building blocks, we promote a program that prioritizes good sportsmanship and fair play among our student-athletes, officials, coaches, and parents.

Sparks has built up quite the track record as a football coach since 2000. He worked at Ballarad High School as the WR/DB Coach, Central Washington University as the Assistant DB Coach, Bishop Gorman High School as the WR/DB Coach, and at Sierra Vista High School as the WR/ST/DB Coach.

While in Bellevue, Washington, Sparks was the Athletic Director of the Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue. He directed all athletic activities and programs by planning, organizing, coordinating, marketing, supervising, and conducting physical, health and wellness programs, and development sports. Also, he worked with youth between 8 and 18, and performed related work as assigned based on Boys & Girls Clubs of America core service program. Sparks supervised part-time staff, volunteers and promoted the strategic goals of health, wellness and fitness. Above all else, he managed all youth sports, activities, and programs for over 5000 participants
